Fall and Winter: The Seasons of Divine Feminine Energy

During the autumn and winter months, as the days become longer and colder, it is a great time to learn how to embrace Divine Feminine energy. This period in the Northern Hemisphere is known as moon season, where the moon rises earlier and sets later, causing more darkness to descend upon our days. It is also a time for spirit work, darkness, and death - all aspects that align with the Divine Feminine. Both masculine and feminine energies exist in everything, including each one of us, and it is essential to find a balance between these two energies. The Divine Feminine is highly valued from a Shakta tantric perspective, where she is considered an all-powerful goddess who is present in every single thing in the universe, including ourselves. The Divine Masculine is her partner who gives shape to her energy. Unfortunately, our culture tends to overemphasize masculine qualities such as productivity, extroversion, and external action and disregards feminine qualities like rest and the cultivation of spiritual energy. Dreaming, imagining, and creating are often seen as unimportant in a culture that does not value the Divine Feminine.

The transition to the cold seasons can be challenging as we tend to associate summer with fun, energy, and extroversion. This is a masculine energy that is mostly yang in nature, and we need to balance it out with yin energy such as rest, cool water, and dark rooms. As we enter moon season, we naturally slow down, turn inward, and become more reflective. This is an opportunity for inner work and spiritual growth, and we can embrace the Divine Feminine energy during this time. Fall and winter are times for "being" rather than "doing" - a time for processing, integrating, dreaming, and setting intentions. By working with these energies in balance, we can prepare ourselves to express our energy outwardly when the masculine wakes up again in the spring and summer. Spending time with our bodies and nature in the masculine season allows us to return to our spiritual selves in the fall and winter and repeat the cycle.

Living in a world that values productivity and action at all times can make it difficult to align our lives with the energies of the seasons. However, there are several ways to honor the Divine Feminine energy during the moon season, such as:

Carving out time for meditation or quiet reflection, even if it's only for a few minutes daily.

Making space for creative pursuits such as drawing and writing.

Cultivating a spiritual connection in whatever way resonates with you.

Prioritizing rest, especially since the body may require additional sleep in the winter compared to the summer.

Balancing the dark and cold season by enjoying warm beverages, sitting by the fireplace, and engaging in movement practices that keep your blood flowing without overwhelming your system.
