Why Can’t I Stop Thinking About Them? Some Common Questions on the Twin Flame Journey

 


Many twin flames frequently ask questions such as, “How do I know when my twin is thinking about me?” and, “Why can’t I stop thinking about them?” Given the strong connection many twins feel with their counterparts on multiple levels, it's understandable why these questions arise. Twin flames often experience an intense bond that transcends physical and emotional boundaries, making it seem as if their twin is always on their mind.


It's perplexing that one of the main tasks on this journey is to detach from our twin, even though we can't stop thinking about them and may even pick up on some of their thoughts. Additionally, many twins report encountering signs that remind them of their twin, sometimes several times a day. These signs can feel like the universe is nudging you towards your twin, creating a constant reminder of their presence in your life.


These signs can include repeatedly seeing their twin’s name in unexpected places, spotting the car they drive, hearing songs that remind you of them, or meeting people who share similar characteristics or mannerisms. With all these signs, it’s natural to think that you are ‘meant to be’ with your counterpart and that you must make it happen as soon as possible. This sense of urgency can be overwhelming and can lead to increased anxiety and obsession.


Through my journey, I’ve discovered that the universe is asking you to recognize, heal, and release all of your fears, beliefs, and wounds that have led to your unhealthy attachment to your twin. The obsession reflects this need for healing. As you heal and release layers of unhealthy attachment, these intense thoughts and feelings will begin to diminish. The process involves deep introspection and addressing unresolved issues that may have contributed to your current state of attachment.


Unfortunately, resisting the process of surrendering and letting go only feeds the obsession and prolongs your suffering. Ironically, this often pushes the physical union with your twin further away, especially if you are actively chasing them, either physically or energetically. This can create a cycle of frustration and disappointment, as the more you try to control the situation, the more elusive the union becomes.


Obsessing over whether your twin is thinking about you also keeps you trapped in a loop of unhealthy attachment. In simple terms, anything that keeps you fixated on your twin only serves to keep you stuck in the ‘obsessive twin flame merry-go-round.’ This includes constantly wondering about their thoughts, feelings, or actions, and even spying on their social media or asking mutual friends about them. Such behaviors can prevent you from focusing on your growth and healing, which are crucial for the twin flame journey.


The twin flame journey is ultimately about self-discovery and spiritual evolution. By focusing on your path, you create a space for both you and your twin to grow individually. This personal growth is essential for any potential union, as it ensures that both partners are whole and complete on their own. The more you invest in your healing, the more you align with your highest self, which naturally brings you closer to the possibility of a harmonious union with your twin.

This is especially true if there is nothing in your own life that warrants such a feeling. While it can feel like that, I assure you that you’re not being played with and that all these experiences are happening for your highest good. It’s important to remember that the twin flame journey is ultimately about personal and spiritual growth. The trials and tribulations are meant to push you toward a higher understanding of yourself and your place in the universe.


The universe doesn’t seek to punish or play tricks on us. It merely reflects the energy we carry inside, mirroring it back to us through our thoughts, feelings, and the circumstances that unfold in our lives. Meditation, journaling, and energy healing practices can help you stay grounded and centered. Connecting with others on the twin flame journey can also provide support and understanding. Remember that while the journey is deeply personal, you are not alone. Many others are experiencing similar challenges and can offer empathy and guidance.
