JUNE ASTROLOGY, 2023: WHAT PLANETS WILL BE RETROGRADE?

As we approach the beautiful season of summer, nothing, not even the vast cosmos, can hinder you from embracing and enjoying your life to the fullest.

With the fading of Mercury retrograde blunders, it should be relatively easy to communicate without stumbling over your words. However, the astrology for June 2023 suggests that upcoming planetary retrogrades will pose some challenges.

What exactly is retrograde?

A retrograde occurs when a planet gradually slows down in its celestial motion. Apart from the sun and the moon, each astrological planet has its retrograde cycle. The inner planets, namely Mercury, Venus, and Mars, experience retrograde more frequently than the outer planets—Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. When a planet goes retrograde, it can bring about delays, setbacks, and shifts in the areas it governs. For example, during Mercury retrograde, processing information, effective communication, and accurate representation of details become more difficult. This retrograde is particularly noticeable due to Mercury's proximity to Earth, unlike an outer planet like Pluto.

Which planets will be retrograde in June 2023?

Three planets—Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto—will be in retrograde motion this month. However, the effects of the retrogrades involving the outer planets will be less pronounced. Your focus should be on the impact of the retrograde occurring in one of the inner planets.

What should you expect from the retrograde planets in June 2023?

Pluto stationed retrograde on May 1.

Saturn will station retrograde on June 17.

Neptune will station retrograde on June 30.

Pluto Retrograde (May 1-October 10)

Pluto, the planet associated with transformative change and awakening, is stationing retrograde in Aquarius for the first time in generations. It will eventually move back into the steady and conservative sign of Capricorn. When Pluto transits a zodiac sign and house in your birth chart, it brings significant shifts. However, due to Pluto's slow movement, these changes may appear gradual and almost imperceptible, especially when you are in the midst of them. While Pluto retrograde at 0 degrees Aquarius, which it entered on March 23, may not result in major revelations, its return to the Capricorn-ruled house of your birth chart on June 11 will have a more noticeable impact. Since 2008, there have been gradual changes related to structure, tradition, and outdated systems. Pluto's brief return to Capricorn aims to complete what was started. In terms of your personal birth chart, the transformation that has been occurring in this sign will officially conclude when Pluto leaves Capricorn for good in 2024.

Saturn Retrograde (June 17-November 4)

Saturn, the planet associated with boundaries, rules, and structures, will station retrograde in the mutable water sign of Pisces on June 17. This is Saturn's first retrograde station in Pisces in almost 30 years. As a result, the area of your birth chart governed by Pisces will undergo significant reorganization, especially if you are currently experiencing your Saturn return. Saturn in Pisces will not impose the same strict boundaries as before; instead, it will focus on refining and improving areas where the structure is lacking. Pisces is an idealistic and aspirational sign, Saturn's time in this sign is about turning dreams into reality. However, as the retrograde progresses, there may be a slowdown in this aspect of your life. From June 17 to November 4, you will be prompted to reconsider how you have been pursuing your dreams and goals. It will require hard work and discipline to make your wishes come true, and this retrograde will allow you to make necessary adjustments.

Neptune Retrograde (June 30-December 6)

As the month draws to a close, Neptune, the planet associated with deception, fantasy, and illusions, will also station retrograde in Pisces. Fortunately, Neptune has been stationing retrograde in Pisces for the past nine years, so this is not a new phenomenon for the Pisces-ruled area of your birth chart. Neptune's retrograde is less noticeable since it is an outer planet. However, you may experience increased clarity in areas where you tend to be naive. As Neptune can bring confusion and uncertainty, its retrograde tends to alleviate these effects. Therefore, if you have been struggling to see clearly in the realms of fantasy, dreams, and ideals, the fog may lift during the next five months.
